Giving Back with Blaze STL

I give my time to a variety of arts and community service projects. I’m on the board of a NFP early childhood center and on my local city’s art committee. Giving back to the community and sharing my love of art and clay is an important component of my life and practice.

Right before the pandemic hit, friend and fellow ceramicist, Rob Miller, started a NFP called Blaze STL. Its mission is to create confidence, collaboration and inclusion by enriching lives through clay.

Blaze STL promotes and supports creative, clay-based, activities for disabled and underserved communities.

Festability was Blaze STL’s first opportunity to showcase its services to the public at large. It was a great success! I met many new people and watched creativity bloom as participants created clay turtles for turtle island.
